Hi
We're just undergoing a restructure and have been given the opportunity to rethink some job titles.
I'd be very grateful of information on job titles that are used elsewhere for the 2 following jobs:
currently called Museums Assistants, proposed Visitor Services Assistants.
Job involves being front of house at 3 venues and supervising the casual staff they work with (1 or 2 others at a time).
Supervise the retail area, responsible for lay out and stock check/takes.
Help with exhibition changeovers.
Responsible for cleaning the venues front and back of house.
On a call-out rota responding to any out of hours alarms at the venues.
Responsible for cashing up and cash handling.
responsible for security and health and safety whilst on duty including opening and closing the venues.
Also to involve administrative duties - filing, letter sending, booking events, dealing with enquiries, updating the website and each of the roles will probably have a specialist area they help with including education and retail.
currently Audience Development Officer (me) and proposed as the same but with an awareness it doesn't really give away what the role does.
Manages all learning planning all schools, famlies and adult programme and a team of casual education staff who develop and deliver learning (schools/families mainly).
Works with partners internally and externally on special events and projects. Particular focus on working in wider cultural sector than museums and galleries.
supervises website content and most marketing and press materials from the service
Responsible for user/non-user research/data (more focus on this in new role)
Many thanks in advance!
Diane
