Supporting the Dyscalculic Student in FE/HE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Understanding Mathematical Anxiety in dyslexic/dyscalculic students in FE/HE A one day CPD course at Loughborough University Wednesday 5th June 2013 Intended Learning Outcomes At the end of the day the participants should have: • A greater awareness of mathematical anxiety • A greater insight into the why dyslexic/dyscalculic students become anxious • An understanding of how to support the mathematically anxious student • Be able to develop and use teaching and learning ideas to for the mathematically anxious student. Method of Teaching and Learning The day includes a combination of lectures, practical group work and discussion. There is no assessment but participants are expected to take an active part in the day.
