We are looking to replace our present camera and I wonder if anyone has done some research into this recently which they would be willing to share.

At present we have a Phaseone camera from ICAM – it is very good and has done a great job of digitising all our tithe maps, etc, but we no longer have a member of staff who specialises in reprographics and it is far to complicated for what we need for every day work. We also have a Canon EOS 500 which is fine for copy orders, presentations, etc, but we need something a bit better for preservation quality copies but not as complicated as the Phaseone.

None of us are very technical so ideally we want something that produces jpg and tiff images that can be managed directly in Photoshop or Picture Manager without having to be processed from RAW capture or with specialist software.

If anyone has recently bought a larger than A2 book scanner we might also consider this as an alternative.

Any help much appreciated and replies summarised.
