I had trouble with finding a matching bowens softbox about a year or so ago and decided to buy 2 of Calumet's own brand ones. The colour temprature is affected by the material used in the Calumet, but that is easily rectified. The Calumet also absorbs more light, normally not a problem and it is only a little bit anyway. But the upside was that there was less of a bright spot using the Calumet which for the majority of my purposes was ideal.

Maybe this would be a solution to you?

all the best,  Colin.

Dear All,

I’m looking for a 60x80 Bowens BW 1665 softbox to match an existing one. But it seems the new luminair’s are different and the new 60x80 does not have the internal diffuser. I know I could remove the diffuser, but I thought I try to get an old one first.

I’ve phoned round some of the suppliers I know but to no joy, can anyone think of a supplier that might have one lurking in a corner?

Cheers

Tony
