The School of English at the University of Sussex wishes to appoint two lecturers in English Language and Linguistics from 1st Sept 2013. We are looking for scholars whose research and teaching will strengthen our links between language and literature and our developing profile in world Englishes. Research and teaching specialisms in cognitive and/or corpus stylistics, discourse analysis, and sociophonetics will be an advantage. The lecturers will demonstrate a willingness to develop interdisciplinary teaching and research projects.

The successful candidate will possess a completed doctorate in English Language, Linguistics or a related subject and have teaching experience at least to undergraduate level. You will possess high quality research publications that demonstrate your ability to achieve international distinction in your specialist area of English Language research. You will contribute teaching into a wide range of modules on the BA in English Language, and develop research-led modules in your particular special field. You will also contribute teaching in your research area to one of the School’s MAs and participate in Sussex’s vibrant research culture.
