Interesting job in Tampere, Finland. I don't know anything about the university, but I might as well take a moment to vouch for Finland. Personally, before I started working in Finland I thought it would be endlessly dark and cold, but it's nowhere near as bad. The daylight is not dramatically different from what I was used to in the UK, and the cold is made a whole lot more bearable by the extremely low humidity and slow winds (and it never rains October-April, only snows!). This morning it was -13°C but I strolled to work in regular trousers, a shirt and normal coat. And Finland is generally a great place to live and work. The standard of living is high, inequality is low, public services are great, and in the cities it's easy to get by in English. I'll offer tentatively to give further general advice to anyone looking to apply for this, though I may have to withdraw that if I'm overwhelmed!
