The Prescribing Observatory for Mental Health (POMH-UK) runs clinical audit- based Quality Improvement Programmes (QIPs) over a range of topics in mental health prescribing. The aim of these is to improve prescribing practice in mental health.

 

Each topic has an associated advisory group, made up of POMH-UK project team, clinical experts in the field, and service users and carers with experience in the relevant area.

 

The advisory group usually meets up two to three times in the first round of audit to look at the standards and questionnaires, and then again after the audit has taken place to advise us on ways we can help improve prescribing practice.

 

Our new Quality Improvement Programme for 2014 will be on: ‘Prescribing for substance misuse: Alcohol detoxification’ .

 

If you are a service user who has undergone alcohol detoxification, or have cared for someone who has, and are interested in contributing to and participating in this advisory group, please contact:
