Dear all,

Imperial College London, the University of Southampton and Exscitec are running a Summer School on Earth and Marine Sciences for 120 Y11 and Y12 students that is sponsored by the BG Group. This school aims to inspire pupils who are interested in pursuing a STEM subject at university level and might be interested in the Earth and Marine sciences, and to inform them of STEM related career opportunities, including those associated with the energy, oil, gas and related industries.

We are looking for Geoscientists who would like to get on board this project to outreach their research and/or interests to young audiences. This would also be a great opportunity to establish links with fellows working in the industry sector.

The course will take place from the 18th to the 22nd of July at Imperial College London - South Kensington Campus (on the first day) and the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, and it includes field trips (30 students/trip). We need activity leaders for the 19th and 20th, and in particular for the 18th in London.

If you are interested in taking part in this project (giving a talk/lecture or delivering a workshop, for example), know someone who would, or would like further information, please email Lucía de la Riva Pérez at [log in to unmask]

Regards,

Dr. Lucía de la Riva Pérez
