In one place I worked the employee's manager did at 'return to work' interview within a week of return part of which included a few questions about any illness abroad. This fed into and supported the policy of management owning the process and any relevant oh referrals were triggered from there in relation to fitness for work etc. Treatment and health follow up of any illness next via GP as with any health issues but they did have a form to bring to GP detailing known health risks for travel destination as many GPs wouldn't necessarily know travel health.

I work within an organisation and discussions have come up with regards to capturing returning travellers and ascertaining whether they have had travel related illnesses or accidents for reporting. I wondered whether anyone else does this for an organisation? It is a lot of work and the question really is whether it is a worthwhile exercise.
