The Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences is inviting Prof/Reader level applications for an Associate Dean for Research, along with applications for six new academic posts in the areas of digital media arts and film, performing arts, arts management, and Learning & Teaching within a creative arts context.

The Associate Dean (Research) post may have an academic background belonging to any discipline relevant to the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences.  Three of the Arts posts advertised (Reader/Professor, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer) specifically address digital media arts and film, a new growth area within the School.  We also seek a Senior Lecturer in Arts Management/Leadership; a Lecturer in Performing Arts (this post holder will lead our new MA Contemporary Theatre Making); and a Senior Lecturer with a specialism in any of the School’s areas to lead our Learning & Teaching development.  In all cases, successful candidates will have research expertise in one or more relevant fields, and outputs of international excellence.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
