In October 2012, Sue Abbott from Exeter asked about using Aspire with the Web Access Management (WAM) module from Innovative Interfaces. I wonder if there has been any answer to her question or any workaround has been found.

At Bangor we have started testing Aspire and noticed that when bookmarking from an online journal article, metadata can only be passed to Talis correctly if bookmarked while accessing the article without using WAM proxy. As Sue pointed out DOI links will not work off campus.

If we bookmark while accessing an online journal page via WAM proxy, the only metadata transferred to Aspire is the web address repeated as 'Title' and 'Web address' but nothing else. I thought Aspire was treating the page as a web resource but the resource type is set as 'Article'.

The only way to make it work appears to be to bookmark from the online journal page without using WAM proxy and to add the proxied URL manually in the web address field.

Has anyone found a more elegant solution?
