Quick question on the list of funders … is this a service that will be maintained as an authority list and we can therefore use for quality control in our CRIS or IR?
Where is the list from and who will maintain it going forward?

Subject: The UK's new metadata guidelines (RIOXX) available for public comment.
**Apologies for cross-posting**
The UK’s new metadata guidelines available for public comment.
Of interest to: repository managers and research information managers.
As you may know, a new metadata application profile and guidance for UK repositories will be launched this April. Known as RIOXX, this standard approach to metadata is strongly endorsed by Jisc and the RCUK and is designed to achieve several goals. First, a consistent approach to two core metadata elements – project ID (grant number) and funder name – will benefit anyone needing to track research outputs across scholarly systems. Second, a standard approach to metadata will support effective data exchange between systems. Finally, this approach provides a framework for augmenting the range of metadata collected as a matter of course by institutions. The Vocabularies for Open Access project (V4OA), designed to achieve a common approach to open access-related metadata, will contribute to the RIOXX application profile and guidelines in due course.
The RIOXX application profile and guidelines have been developed at UKOLN and Chygrove in consultation with metadata experts, interested parties working the research information arena and UKCoRR. Note that associated software plug-ins will also be available at a later date to support easy implementation.
You are invited to review the documents here: http://rioxx.net/ Any comments you wish to make over the next two weeks will be gratefully received by the project team who can be contacted using this address: [log in to unmask]
