Home and away: increasing international appeal and outreach across UK universities
8 May 2013

Venue: Exeter University

Visit the workshop page on the HEA website for more details

This workshop is designed to promote greater understanding of the extent to which institutions tune their degree programmes to their internationalisation strategy, highlighting the importance of research-led teaching in a competitive global education market.

The event will focus on a wide variety of factors that determine recruitment of international students including, international perceptions of GEES disciplines, understanding student needs and desired skill acquisition, post degree employment opportunities, cultural association with place and financial constraints. In addition, the workshop will examine the market for UK students studying abroad, focusing on the means by which institutions accommodate these student aspirations and discussing how degree programmes can be designed more effectively to assist in offering a smooth and logical transition between study in different locations.
