Our college is 'merging' with another, but which is some miles away. I put in good arguments why they should not do this last autumn but to no avail. I do not believe senior managers actually realise what we do in exams. The plan is for the other college's exam team to take over my work - but I am sure they are already at full stretch! I do not know of any exams officer who isn't! This college has decided and issued its proposal to close the exams department in full. All exams work will be placed in to curriculum. Please can I ask that if there are or you know of any colleges out in the big wide world that do not have a dedicated exams officer or no exams officer at all. If you have any view as to the above please can you respond ASAP so that I can reiterate it to the head of this centre as I Firmly believe she has made a drastic error of judgment.
