Northampton are currently running SP9 and produced guidance for JAWS users on accessing our system (Locally called NILE).

You can access the guidance at: http://www.northampton.ac.uk/info/200310/nile-for-staff/981/keyboard-shortcuts-for-jaws-users-in-nile

I have been involved in refining the guidance as we move up from lower versions and the newer interface has often led to these instructions being simplified each time. I worked with a visually impaired student using these guidelines and was able to navigate directly to courses to access content………we then found that not all tutors create accessible content which is another issue which could apply to any VLE.

Subject: Blackboard 9.1 acessability

Dear All,

I wonder if anyone tested Blackboard 9.1 usability/accessibility aspects for students with disabilities (dyslexia, visual impairment, etc.)

Many Thanks

Kind Regards
