The University of Brighton is currently advertising the following, one of five new AHRC-funded studentships based in the Faculty of Arts:
PhD in Archive Studies: history, theory, practice (based at the University of Brighton)
Are you a well-qualified individual looking for an opportunity to develop research within Archive Studies through a PhD project? To be considered, you will need an undergraduate
degree, a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent, and a clearly defined research proposal.
We invite research proposals that consider archive history, theory and practice from a broad spectrum of associated fields. We are particularly interested in proposals
that: engagewith the role of the archive in understanding the relationship between the past and the future; the dynamic between the archivist, the document, the repository and the user; online environments and digital curation. Home to the Design Archives
and Screen Archives South East, the University welcomes proposals from students across a range of disciplines including archive and museum studies, the arts, history and cultural studies.
For an informal discussion, please contact Dr Catherine Moriarty [log in to unmask], Dr Frank Gray [log in to unmask] or
Professor David Arnold [log in to unmask]
