Hi Allstat,

Two post-doctoral researcher positions are available at the University of
Sheffield to work with Neil Lawrence on probabilistic models for
computational biology.

The Sheffield research group is well known for the development of Gaussian
Process methodologies with applications in biomedical domains. The posts
concerns the development of advanced tools for probabilistic inference as
part of the RADIANT project ("Rapid development and distribution of
statistical tools for high-throughput sequencing data"). This is a European
consortium project that aims to bring the most advanced statistical tools
for high throughput data analysis into the mainstream of biomedical
research. The Sheffield research group currently consists of 4
post-doctoral researchers and 5 PhD students.

For more details of the job and how to apply please see this web page:

We would be particularly happy to receive applications by researchers with
a strong background in probabilistic inference and an interest in applying
this knowledge to computational biology. Our research group has a strong
track record of making significant methodological advances inspired by
challenging applications. This project will provide many more opportunities
to do that.

Closing date for applications is 22nd April.

Regards,

Neil Lawrence
