Dear Colleagues,

I have been watching the thread on the dis-forum about a support worker’s notes being made available to the whole group with interest as another issue is currently being discussed here which is closely related.

I have been encouraging teaching staff to upload lecture notes/presentations to be used etc at least 24 hours in advance of the session however I find such inconsistency in the response I receive back. They go to the two extremes – we have staff who ensure everything is available in advance for all students to access, right through to staff who say that it is impossible to load the notes within 48 hours after a session let alone before. Many different reasons are given for the positions.

If this issue has been tackled at your Uni and you have successfully answered arguments such as “students won’t attend the lecture if they can just get the notes” I would be really grateful if you could let me know. I would be happy to take comments confidentially to me at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and share a summary of this back to this forum.

Thank you and I hope you are having a good day ☺
Best wishes,

Lyn
