The week will build on the well established and acclaimed ACB management courses the last one being held in 2011.
· Designed for those preparing for FRCPath and senior laboratory management.
· Utilising lectures, workshops, discussions, group projects, debates & presentations.
· Led by senior members of the profession, NHS managers and the Postgraduate Medical School & Department of Health Care Management at the University of Surrey.
The course will look at the NHS, its changing structure, its finance and staff groups. It will provide sessions on the psychology of organisation structures, managing budgets and demand, laboratory organisation, training, job descriptions, employment legislation, ethics, appraisal and people management. It will provide training in evidence based medicine and devote a day to clinical leadership.
