Also worth checking whether your gas analyser is CE marked or certified for pleural fluid.

Many are not.

Subject: Pleural fluid pH

How do you deal with pleural fluid pH? Wards with gas analysers fed up with respiratory team clogging them. Any particular type of syringe we can use to ensure a 'clean' sample is delivered to the analyser?

best wishes
