REMINDER: There are now only two weeks until the deadline for abstract proposals for this conference.

 

The Social Futures Institute (SoFI) at Teesside University is hosting a one-day conference, supported by the Social Policy Association, on July 11th 2013, on the theme of Social Exclusion and Social Justice. We are pleased to welcome:

 

                     Beverley Skeggs (Discussant) Professor of Sociology, Goldsmiths, University of London

                     Tess Ridge (Keynote) Professor of Social Policy, University of Bath

‘We’re all in this together? The hidden costs of recession and austerity policies on Britain’s poorest children’

                     Peter Squires (Keynote) Professor of Criminology and Public Policy, University of Brighton

‘Redistributions of risk and criminalization’

 

Call for papers

Proposals of 300 words are invited for consideration for 20 minute papers (followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion). Please submit abstracts complete with name, institution and contact details to [log in to unmask] by Thursday, 28 February 2013.

Feedback on proposals will be provided by Friday 5 April.

 

The organising committee is facilitating a special issue of the conference proceedings through the International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy in 2014.
