CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:
TRANSCEND FESTIVAL OF PERFORMANCE 2013
Transcend is an exciting new Festival of Performance taking place in St. Giles, Camden, 5th-7th July 2013.
The festival aims to:
- Provide a central platform to showcase the creative talent of individuals and groups who live, work or have an interest in St Giles.
- Span mediums and genres of performance, incorporating live art, music, film, site-specific performance, poetry, installation, dance and all points in between.
- Develop a programme of workshops, audience talks & discussions.
- Create creative links between different community groups.
- Create creative links between the community and those who work in the area.
Transcend participants will benefit from:
- A platform to showcase work to a wide audience including artists, producers, programmers and academics from across the UK.
- The opportunity to perform in unique and diverse locations.
- The chance to engage with a vibrant, creative community in new and exciting ways.
- Networking opportunities with our community of artists and companies.
- Documentation of your work at the point of showing.
- Free Festival Passes and discounted food/refreshments from our partner outlets.
- 50/50 Box Office split for ticketed events.
Transcend Spaces:
St. Giles boasts a treasure trove of beautiful spaces, historic buildings and cutting edge arts venues.
There will be a variety of performance spaces available including: St Giles-in-the-Fields (church and churchyard), Phoenix Artist Club, Union Jacks (Function Room), with many more to be confirmed shortly. Work can take place inside, outside, in the streets – as long as the company/artist has a realistic idea of how such a project might be achieved. If you have a preference for a specific place/space then do let us know.
Works do not have to be a specific length or cater to a specific audience size. Work-in-progress and ‘scratch’ performances are also welcome.
