Dear all,

We'd like to ask for your support to pass on information about the British Science Association Media Fellowships<http://www.britishscienceassociation.org/science-society/media-fellowships> scheme to researchers in your organisation.

The scheme aims to strengthen connections between scientists and the media by placing researchers in a 3-5 week summer placement with a media host such as the BBC, the Guardian and the Irish Times.

Participants return to their organisations better equipped to handle media enquiries, to turn their research into news and promote their research and institution. They also improve their communication skills that benefit their teaching, journal articles and grant applications.

In order to encourage researchers from your institution to apply, could you please email the message below to your researchers, post the information on your website, Twitter account or in staff newsletters? If you would find it useful, you can also download the A4 Media Fellowships poster<http://www.britishscienceassociation.org/sites/default/files/root/SiS/MF/MFflyer2013.pdf> for use on notice boards.
Any help you can give in publicising the scheme would be very greatly appreciated!
If you wish to discuss the scheme further please do not hesitate to contact the Science in Society team at the British Science Association ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).
Best wishes,

Toby Shannon,

Science in Society Officer
British Science Association
