I presume this is somehow racist but the
settlement at Yate is included in the HER!
We also gave problems with out many homo
habilis remains!

Although Hominid settlements would still
work as long as you included orangutang and chimpanzee settlements your HER
http://australianmuseum.net.au/Hominid-and-hominin-whats-the-difference/
has a good explanation of the difference
and the changes.

I have check my hard copy of the 2007
version of IFP and this is the text that was used in that version. In fact
going back through the files the same phrase was used in the very first version
of IFP (c2000?).
The majority of the text on the new wiki
is the text from the last (2007) edition of IFP. The revisions that were done
as part of the migration were related to updating weblinks, sub-dividing the
sections and creating the relevant tables of contents that change as you move
through the document. We also put in links where references are made to other
parts of the document to allow you to move around the site more easily.
I will put forward this suggested change to the steering group at the next opportunity.
It is good to get feedback on IFP so thank you for raising this.
all the best

Subject: IFP - what are SMRs and
HERs
Sarah - having just had a quick look at your link, I'm
interested to see the phrase about HERs, 'They range in date from
the earliest hominid settlement to the Cold War period'.
Could/should this be modified to avoid sounding like the Cold
War is our cut off point? I appreciate IFP is going through some
revisions (and I haven't contributed) and I can't remember what was said
on this page beforehand.
Best wishes

I agree with Miles
– seems to me that CCC need to send out a more robust press release to
inform the public, the parish council etc. as to what an HER is and that just
because it’s on the HER that does not necessarily give it
“protection for generations to come”.
