Thanks for sharing. It's interesting you decided to start with OAI-PMH [1] since Google Scholar (your main competitor in this space) abandoned support for it 5 years ago [2]. If you really want to embrace open access it might be worthwhile to encourage publishers to make their content crawlable using widely supported Web standards, like sitemaps, old school HTML Meta tags, or schema.org microdata/rdfa (if you want to get fancy), instead of niche technologies that have the unfortunate side effect of hiding their content. Still it's a start. Google and Summon could use some competition in this space, so your efforts are appreciated. //Ed [1] http://dc02vg0047nr.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com:8080/IRWizard/wizard.html [2] http://scholar.google.com/intl/en-US/scholar/inclusion.html#indexing On Tue, Feb 12, 2013 at 10:54 AM, Robert Bley <[log in to unmask] > wrote: > (with apologies for cross-posting) > > ** ** > > ** ** > > All,**** > > ** ** > > this may be of interest to those of you who are involved with > institutional and open access repositories.
