Call for papers: The Anthropology of Death and Social Change Conference: AAA. Chicago, November 20-24 2013. Abstract by February 15th Panel: How are practices and beliefs of funerals, burials and the afterlife changing worldwide? Amidst significant changes in specific social groups (relations of individuals to groups, one's idea of the self), religious beliefs, and technologies, how are the rituals and practices at the end of life changing? What does this say about these societies? And vice-versa, how do changes in funerary practices and ideas influence societies, groups and individuals? If you are interested in contributing a paper, please send an (tentative) abstract to Sebastien Penmellen Boret [log in to unmask] and Michael Jindra [log in to unmask] by February 15th.
