I am glad to report that Pam Raven, the officer from the Department for Education charged with collecting responses to the proposed History National Curriculum, has agreed to come to a meeting hosted by BASA at Queen Mary University of London on Monday 25th March in the evening. Further details to follow soon.
All those with interest in and concern for the history taught our children are encouraged to attend so that your views can be heard, noted and passed on to the Government. We shall need to know numbers in advance of the meeting and whether you will be coming as an individual or representing an organisation. Again, further details to follow but please mark this important event in your diaries.

The draft proposals are attached. Apologies for breaking Jiscmail protocol by having an attachment, but this enables you to have only the history, while the online version is 200 pages or so long and has all subjects.

The current curriculum - into which BASA had some input – can be found at https://www.education.gov.uk/schools/teachingandlearning/curriculum/secondary/b00199545/history/programme
