Dear Colleagues,
Please could colleagues share the extent to which they have changed university records for students who have graduated and then changed name and gender.

* Changing degree/ award certificates and transcripts are clear.

* Has anyone changed other records retrospectively including enrolment information or notes on incidents and complaints and tutorial notes made whilst the student was identified as the gender assigned at birth?

* Has anyone put a note on paper and electronic files to ensure that any future call for references are responded to appropriately using the correct name and using correct pronoun such as he/she?

* Is there any trace of previous name and gender identity on the records?

* Who is the guardian of information relating to previous gender identity in your organisation?

* To what extent has the individual been involved in determining how many of the records have changed?

* Have your alumni records also been changed?

I have read the ECU Trans staff and students in HE guide and have had some verbal guidance from ECU staff on this, but would be grateful for any recent practical experience and advice.

Best wishes,
Christine.
