Hello

The Research Computing Service (IT Services), University of St Andrews is looking to recruit one Applications Developer (Research Computing) and one Research Computing Advisor. Both are full-time permanent positions to start as soon as possible.

The Applications Developer (Research Computing) develops, tests and deploys technical solutions for both individual research projects and for more generic, infrastructure-type solutions. Furthermore, the role holder produces all relevant technical documentation and is responsible for versioning of developed software and for post-project maintenance to ensure security and that research outputs remain available online for as long as is needed.

The Research Computing Advisor fills a liaison role within the team. Important aspects of this role are providing technical contributions to applications for funding, managing technical components of research projects and electronic research skills development of academic staff and students.

Further details of both posts are available via the University of St Andrews vacancy page (https://www.vacancies.st-andrews.ac.uk).

The deadline for applications is 1 March 2013.

Best wishes
Birgit Plietzsch
