Dear Colleagues Thank you very much for your helpful responses. If it is all right with everyone, I'll collate a few facts that came up (eg which unions to librarians tend to belong to? any useful comments etc - all completely anonymous obviously) and circulate via this mailing list just for information sharing purposes.
