Hi,
Whilst not ‘research’ you might want to take a look at the blog I started last year for Additional Learning Support students and staff at Bournemouth. In particular, if you click on the ‘what our students say about us’ part, you’ll have another angle on the areas of concern that students identify.
You can access the blog by clicking on the link under my name. I’d be interested to know what you think of it…it’s quite popular here
Best wishes

Subject: Students' attitudes to LD
Everyone, help please?
I'm sketching out my research proposal for PhD funding and would greatly appreciate anyone pointing me in the direction of recent research on the experiences and perspectives of (any/all) students on the role and efficacy of learning and study support/development.
My research 'angle' is looking at dyslexia in HE, trying to build on my Masters' research which opened up a metaphorical can of worms when I asked dyslexic students about their feelings and attitudes towards their own dyslexia and how they felt this impacted on their academic confidence - at the time I was working in acadmic skills/study support for this community of students.
From what I've been able to dig up so far, there is a general dearth of research literature that may help me to formulate a research design connecting these threads together which it seems to me, are pretty crucial in trying to understand more about the challenges faced by clever people studying in 'conventional' learning environments but who have different ways of thinking about things;
So any pointers to anything recent on any of these broad areas would be helpful - many thanks
Andrew
