Dear All,
a new issue of 'ReadingItaly', the Italian Studies Postgraduate Forum of the University of Reading, is now online (http://readingitaly.wordpress.com/).
This number features the Asmi Conference 2012 which took place at the Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies (London) on the 23rd and 24th November and investigated the theme of 'Protest in Modern Italy'.
After a report on the conference of the 'Association for the Study of Modern Italy', Anne Bruch (University of Hamburg) uncovers the ideas underpinning the organization
of the event. Marco Manfredi (University of Pisa) reviews Lucy Riall's recently published book on the 1860 revolt in Bronte, which was the subject of Lucy Riall's keynote talk at the Asmi conference. Finally, Emanuele Cecchinato Posadas provides an insight
on a new protest movement of temporary school teachers in Italy.
Best wishes,
Paolo Ghirardini
