She was really helpful and gave a lot of good advice. If she’s still there try contacting her about seating. All our online rooms have adjustable office
chairs rather than static ones.

It’s my understanding that students aren’t covered by the health and safety regarding working practices and computers (the regular breaks, seating, etc) –
don’t think we would ignore it here but it’s not an argument you can make.

If I can see through the mist of jealousy for you having a second room, I'd have to agree with you regarding the chairs and H&S.
Although it can be argued that the user is not a regular user, the fact is that workstations are supposed to conform to the HSE guidelines
including an adjustable chair. It is strange that your management can afford a room, the PCs, networking etc and yet cannot afford some decent chairs.

We have been fortunate enough to have been given a second on line exam room (seating 18 students) with benching and privacy screening unfortunatley though due to budget restraints I have been told that the seating will be standard classroom plastic chairs
and not operator chairs as in the normal in our other IT and online exam rooms.
My dilemma is that for some online exams students will be seated in rooms with adjustable operator chairs but at the next session they could be using a plastic classroom seat - can this be acceptable under JCQ requirements? Is this a Health and Safety issue
regarding use of laptop/seating?
I personally think that all students sitting the online exams should have the same facilties given to them but my ELT think otherwise - advice anyone?
