I’m delighted to announce the details and the Call for Participation for the second Unofficial
Histories conference, supported by the Manchester Centre for Regional History.
The Unofficial Histories conference
aims to explore how society produces, presents, and consumes history beyond official and elite versions of the past.
After a successful first conference at Bishopsgate Institute in London in May 2012, the Unofficial
Histories conference is coming to Manchester, taking place over the weekend
of the 15-16 June 2013:
§ Saturday
15 June 2013 will be a day of papers, presentations and debate at Manchester
Metropolitan University, Oxford Road, Manchester.
§
Sunday 16 June 2013 will
be a relaxed day of informal activities exploring the theme of ’Unofficial Histories’.
Conference registration will open in late January 2013.
