THE BRITISH RECORDS ASSOCIATION

‘ARCHIVES AT RISK’: NEW REPORT NOW AVAILABLE

The British Records Association is pleased to announce the publication of its report about risks currently threatening historical records and archives.

The report presents and analyses the findings of research on two English regions, London and the East of England. It highlights generic risks and makes various recommendations for co-ordinated action to reduce the threats that have been identified. The Association believes that this report is of relevance and interest to archivists and users of archives throughout the United Kingdom and not simply to those within the two regions covered by the report.

Two documents are available. One is a short ‘executive summary’ of findings and recommendations. The other, longer, document includes detailed reports and analyses of the data accumulated during the research as well as the findings and recommendations.

The documents are available on the website of the British Records Association. Please go to: http://www.britishrecordsassociation.org.uk/pages/news.htm

The Association welcomes constructive feedback and comment from readers of the report. If you wish to comment, please contact the Chairman of the Association’s Records Preservation Section at [log in to unmask]
