UCL Grade 7 - £32,375 - £33,258 per annum depending on skills and experience

This is a 3 year post, for a research statistician, working on a programme of ophthalmic statistics and epidemiological research related to the national and other cohort studies, including  the 1946, 1958, 1970, birth cohorts, Millennium cohort and UK Biobank, and ALSPAC.

The post-holder will develop statistical methods for data linkage and combining longitudinal data trajectories, prior to conducting analysis of the harmonised dataset in an investigation of refractive error. .  The successful candidate will be expected to liaise/work collaboratively, to contribute to publications and to present the results of their work at study meetings, and at national or international scientific meetings, as appropriate.

This post is initially funded for 3 years.

Applicants must have an MSc in Medical Statistics or Biostatistics. Research experience of secondary data analysis of large, complex healthcare data sets using standard software packages (e.g. R or Stata) and experience of writing papers for peer-reviewed journals are both essential. It is essential that candidates have a strong working knowledge of research methods in statistics and epidemiology and have strong statistical analytic skills.
