Two Postdoctoral Research Assistants
Fixed term contract for 2 years
Project: "Bayesian Inference for Big Data with Stochastic Gradient Markov Chain Monte Carlo”
We invite applications for two EPSRC-funded postdoctoral research position to work on the project "Bayesian Inference for Big Data with Stochastic Gradient Markov Chain Monte Carlo”. The posts will be supervised
by Profs Yee Whye Teh and Arnaud Doucet in the Statistics Department, and form part of a joint project with Professor Christophe Andrieu (Mathematics, Bristol University). Both are a 2-year fixed term positions and have flexible start dates between 1st March
2013 and 1st March 2014.
Candidates should have completed, or be soon to complete, a doctorate in Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science or affiliated areas. Experience in the areas of Monte Carlo methods, computational statistics,
or large scale probabilistic inference are essential. The posts are available for 2 years, have a salary on the University grade 7 scale (currently £29,249 to £39,257), includes membership of the University pension scheme and have an annual leave entitlement
of 38 days per year (inclusive of all public holidays and university closed periods). Requests to work on a part time or flexible basis will be considered.
