The announcement below concerns an upcoming event in Oxford, relating to a newly funded EPSRC programme that will provide several postdoctoral research fellowships (at Bristol, Lancaster, Oxford and Warwick). ----------- Intractable Likelihood: New Challenges from Modern Applications A new 5-year research programme funded by EPSRC (at Bristol, Lancaster, Oxford and Warwick universities) ** FIVE POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE ** LAUNCH EVENT, OXFORD, 31 JANUARY 2013 The "i-like" programme aims to tackle some of the most important statistical challenges that arise across many modern-day applications. It is led by Gareth Roberts (Warwick), and involves Christophe Andrieu (Bristol), Paul Fearnhead (Lancaster), David Firth (Warwick) and Chris Holmes (Oxford). The programme will shortly recruit FIVE postdoctoral research fellows, each for up to 4 years, to work on a wide variety of projects spanning theoretical, computational and applied work. As a prelude to the recruitment activity there will be a Launch Day (31 January, Oxford) aimed at PhD students and early-career researchers. All are welcome!
