Hi Helen et al

The governance case for connectivity is (as you
say) well made - the financial side will not necessarily involve massive
expenditure as the market has moved in favour of the buyer.
If possible go to tender to get the best deal.
The improved level of governance will contribute towards reducing the
Trust's CNST (litigation insurance) payments as part of a package -
speak to your head of risk & stress the improvements connectivity will
make.
You MAY want to consider joint glucose/ketone analysers in certain areas
linked to a Trust-wide blood ketone use protocol which will further
improve patient care and reduce risk of litigation.
Hope this adds a little to your case.

Subject: Blood glucose meter - connectivity business case

Hi all,
We are going out to tender this year for our glucose meter & strip
contract.
We would like to introduce connectivity meters on some key wards that
have had non-connected meters in the past. As this will involve
increased costs over replacing with non-connected meters, does anyone
have any useful data / evidence that would help a business case? I am
aware of the governance aspects & advantages but I suspect we will be
required to show a cost benefit over & above this.

  Many thanks
