Subject: Intraosseous sampling

Dear all

I have been approached by our Trust regarding analysis of Intraosseous samples(samples collected from bone marrow) using a blood gas analyser. I am of the understanding that our current analyser is not CE marked for this purpose. Does anyone know of any blood gas analyser that is. The person I spoke to in our Trust is adamant that there are CE marked analysers available.

Also do departments process these samples within their own labs on the main line chemistry and haematology analysers? If so what reference ranges do you quote?

Many thanks
