The central administrative unit LET – Educational Development and Technology (LET – Lehrentwicklung und -technologie, http://www.let.ethz.ch/index_EN), which reports to the Rector of ETH Zurich, supports ETH Zurich faculty in their teaching task. LET runs high-quality courses, conducts consultations, fosters teaching innovation and assists in the deployment of new educational technologies. From April 2013 or by negotiation, the following position will become available: Expert in Curriculum and Faculty Development (80%) The successful candidate will be part of the Faculty Development group. Together with the FD team he/she will develop new modules for LET continuing faculty education courses and help to build up a database with information and materials for ETH Zurich faculty. He/she will assist Directors of Studies in the ETH departments in the development of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes. This will involve the analysis and evaluation of existing degree programmes, plus the needs-oriented development of concepts and their implementation, together with the respective instruments and guidance to Directors of Studies regarding quality and project management issues. In this task he/she will work closely with the Prorector for Curriculum Development, other LET groups, and further ETH units. The successful candidate will hold a university degree and, ideally, an additional qualification in the area of didactics or pedagogy. He/she will have experience in university didactics and curriculum development, and possess excellent communication skills in German and English. His/her conceptual abilities and strong interest in the area of university teaching will make a fundamental contribution to the areas of curriculum development and faculty development.
