Following on from "science it's a girl thing"-gate, I'd like to share the spoof video from some of my previous colleagues at Bristol Uni... it has even made BBC news in the West Country!
Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtZCq83v92s&feature=youtu.be

Subject: [PSCI-COM] Science: It's your thing! competition winner
Dear Psci-com,
You may remember the European Commission's terrible launch video for Science: It's a Girl Thing. It caused quite a stir, including on this list. After withdrawing the video, the EC ran a competition to find a replacement. An old friend of mine (we've not been in touch since school!) submitted an entry, and won! She was kind enough to answer a few of my questions both during the competition, and after winning. These conversations formed the basis of a pair of guest posts on my blog, and I thought list members might be interested in reading them.
During: http://alexanderbrown.info/2012/11/24/guest-post-science-its-your-thing/
After: http://alexanderbrown.info/2012/12/17/guest-post-winning-its-floras-thing/

I also recently featured a guest post by Virginia Greco, one of the women selected to be an amabassador for Science: It's a Girl Thing!, who shared her views on *that* video, and her epxeriences of the programme generally: http://alexanderbrown.info/2012/09/20/science-its-virginias-thing/

With apologies for the shameless plug of my own blog (though it all being guest posts makes up for that, right?),

Best regards,
Alex
