Poetry, Music, Drama: the creation of contemporary opera

IMR in association with the Institute of English Studies



This one-day conference brings together poets, composers, producers and academics to discuss the collaborative processes involved in the creation of contemporary opera. Speakers will include: Michael Symmonds-Roberts, Fiona Sampson, John Casken, Robert Saxton, Liza Lim, David Beard, Jonathan Cross and Andrew Watts.

The conference will be followed by a conversation between Sir Harrison Birtwistle and David Harsent discussing their opera The Minotaur at 18:00. Admission free. Supported by the John Coffin Memorial Trust and the Hepner Foundation.
