medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Thanks Mata,

I use my 'real book' of Cappelli quite a lot.  This site isn't easy to understand, hence the initial negativity, but if you know the book it's easier to get the hang of it.  The introduction (at the bottom of the page) gives a useful summary of how medieval abbreviations work, whilst the table of letters takes you to facsimiles of the actual book, in which Cappelli illustrates numerous common abbreviations from Italian texts.  Worth persevering with if you can't get hold of the book, but it is still in print (I got mine quite easily in one of the university bookshops in Padua).
