Dear all,

I am a bit confused about the "official" way to install WN with a SGE client on EMI-2.

The official docu says

"""

YAIM only provides WN configuration steps for the following batch system interaction:

• Torque

[...]

Configure first your batch system (LSF, SGE, Condor, etc) and only after configure the WN through yaim:

# <path-to-yaim>/yaim -c -s <path_to_file>/site-info.def -n WN

"""

But those WNs running gLite 3.2 rely on /opt/glite/bin/sge_filestaging which came out of glite-yaim-sge-client (and yaim configured this into the SGE queue config when installing the gLite 3.2 WN).

Following the guide you get nothing (S)GE related, so I assume the sge_filestaging is no longer needed/used, correct?

Is it then possible to run a mixed gLite 3.2/EMI-2 WN setup (I would like to test the EMI-2 WN first and then deploy enclosure by enclosure to avoid a downtime). Has anyone done that and if so, how do you set your prolog and epilog in SGE in this case? At the moment I have:

prolog /opt/glite/bin/sge_filestaging --stagein
epilog /opt/glite/bin/sge_filestaging --stageout

but of course that would break on EMI-2.

Maybe I'm just confused after a long week, so any hint is appreciated.

Have a nice weekend

   Torsten
