Utopia in the Portuguese-Speaking Countries – a symposium
Old Committee Room, King’s College London, Strand Campus.

Beginning at 3pm on Thursday 13th December with an introduction by Professor Francisco Bethencourt (History Department, King’s) and continuing with talks by Andrea Dahrer (UFRJ), Patrícia Vieira (University of Georgetown), Francisco Bethencourt (King’s) and Lucia Nagib (University of Leeds).

Day two begins at 10am on Friday 14th December with talks by Diogo Duarte (FCSH/UNL), José Neves (FCSH/UNL), Luís Trindade (Birkbeck College London), Maria Benedita Basto (Univ. Paris IV), Inocência Mata (FLL/UL), Maria Manuel Lisboa (University of Cambridge), David Treece (King’s) and Helena Buescu (FLL/UL).

Lunch is provided on day two.

All are welcome to attend what promises to be a fascinating set of talks, leading to much debate.
