Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of archives & records management with particular reference to any three or more of the following
courses: archives & records management, electronic records management, principles of archival arrangement, archival reference services, managing media archives, applications of computers in archives and records management, content management, research methods,
preservation and conservation; (ii) supervise student research projects and thesis at both undergraduate and graduate levels; (iii) conduct research in their area of expertise; (iv) provide service to the community; (v) to provide academic leadership and act
as a mentor to junior academic staff; (vi) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Associate Professor: Candidates should have (i) a Master’s degree in Archives and Records Management, or in Library and Information Studies, Information Systems, Information Science, or Information
Management or related discipline; (ii) at least 5 years of teaching experience at a University or Comparable Institution; (iii) significant teaching and supervisory experience at the University level and an excellent research and publication record; (iv) a
good and sustained record of research and publications (in archives and records management) with at least 12 publications, 8 of which should be refereed journal articles; lead and/or single authored in journal or book chapters; (v) evidence of service to University,
the Profession and the Community; (vi) evidence of effective academic leadership; (vii) ability to impart practical skills and technical knowledge in archives and records management including the management and preservation of electronic records; (viii) A
PhD in archives and records management will be an added advantage. Senior Lecturer: candidates should have (i) a Master’s Degree in archives and records management or related discipline; (ii) a Bachelors Degree Archives and Records Management or in the relevant
discipline with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) at least 3 years of teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; (iv) ability impart practical skills and technical knowledge in the archives and records management including
the management and preservation of electronic records; (v) have a good and sustained record of research and publications (in archives and records management) with at least 6 publications, 4 of which should be peer reviewed journal articles; (vi) lead and/or
single authored in journal or book chapters; (vii) applicants should demonstrate evidence of service to the university, community and the profession; (vii) A PhD in archives and records management will be an added advantage. Lecturer: candidates should have
(i) Master’s Degree in Archives & Records Management, Information Science, Information Management or related field from a reputable university or institution. (ii) a Bachelors Degree Archives and Records Management or in the relevant discipline with at least
a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) Evidence of engagement in research and service; (vi) Knowledge in the use and application of ICT within the archives and records management/ information management environment is a pre-requisite; (v) a PhD in archives
and records management will be an added advantage.
