Bergen County artifacts in peril after Hurricane Sandy floods Historical Society warehouse | NJ.com

BERGEN COUNTY — The Bergen County Historical Society prepared.

Because their warehouse was located near the Newark Bay in Hudson County, they got flood insurance, though the building had no history of flooding.

The night before the storm, Kevin Wright and his wife Deborah Powell drove to the warehouse. They removed drawers and placed them on top of cabinets and lifted as much as they could onto tables.
