13-14 March 2013, London

This short course (two days) aims to give practicing forecaster the skills necessary to improve their performance and knowledge in the key areas of

We have recently extended the course format to incorporate feedback from previous workshops. In order to ensure that those attending will be given plenty of hands-on experience of analysing data, we have now included the add-on course of basic maths&stats into the main course (without any price increases). We hope this will ensure even more time for exercises and modelling with data. Excel will be used together with more advanced forecasting packages. The course will include presentations and discussion of how forecasting can best be organised in a company and examine the choice of appropriate software.

Target audience & skills required: no formal university background in statistics nor mathematics is required - this is an introductory course to business professionals that covers the fundamental aspects of forecasting in a "maths-lite" and hands-on way. Attendees should have practical forecasting experience and be able to work in Microsoft Excel.  Attendees with a more numerate background will be able to develop a deeper understanding of algorithms and method properties.

Between courses attendees will be expected to carry out an analysis of their own company data series. Tutorial support will be given and in addition a new distance learning tool will be made available to improve learning. It is ideal for an organisation wishing to improve its forecasting capacity.

The course will be on March 13-14, 2013 at the Work Foundation in London.
