Dear List Members, Apologies for cross-posting. There are currently two vacancies for a senior statistician and a statistician at the Statistical Services Centre, University of Reading, UK. The Statistical Services Centre (SSC) provides statistical consultancy and training to a range of clients in the UK and abroad. We are looking for two statisticians to join our team. It should be emphasised that these posts are not academic or research positions. The roles are for a consultant, specialising in consultancy and training. Post 1: Senior Statistician *********************************************************************************** The appointment is full-time, permanent, Grade 7 - £37,012 to £45,486 GBP per annum. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to all of the SSC's areas of interest, and in particular our work in developing countries. Given the variety of our work, the individual will need to have a wide knowledge of modern statistical methods and their application, and have project management experience. You will have: *at least an MSc in Statistics (or equivalent) *experience of statistical consultancy and teaching statistics *a willingness to travel, both within the UK and abroad *the ability to work in French (at least after a training period) *the ability to work as part of a team and individually *a good working knowledge of mainstream statistical software Closing date: 2 January 2013 Interview dates: 4 & 5 February 2013 Reference No: PM12095 Post 2: Statistician ************************************************************************************ The appointment is full-time, permanent, Grade 6 - £27,578 to £34,895 GBP per annum. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to all of the SSC's areas of interest, and in particular our work in developing countries, much of which is in Sub-Saharan Africa. Given the variety of our work, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys applied statistical problems, travelling and keeping abreast of developments in statistics.
